Buying Old-Growth Sequoia: What You Need to Know

💲 How is pricing calculated?

We price slabs by board foot, which factors in the slab’s length, width, and thickness. Additional pricing considerations include:

  • Grain quality and figure
  • Size and rarity
  • Drying method (kiln-dried vs. air-dried)
  • Surface preparation

Most slabs range from $25–$45 per board foot, with Legacy pieces priced higher.

🔥 What’s the difference between kiln-dried and air-dried?

  • Kiln-Dried slabs are professionally dried to 6–12% moisture. They're ready to build and highly stable.
  • Air-Dried slabs are naturally seasoned but may need more time or finish prep, depending on your project.
